Welcome to my blog, my friends. This is my
first reflection for ES1102. Many students talk about their study and school
life. However, I want to share something else with you, which may be much more
meaningful to me.
I want to talk about how I grow up maturely.
The pictures of my life being a simple “kid”
still usually come out in my sight. I can remember how unsophisticated I was 2
years ago. For example, once my deck mate asked me whether I think she is
beautiful or not. I said “not bad” without thinking and just after 1 second I regretted.
She got angry and said I was the only one who said she was not beautiful ever. Everyone
around me laughed at me and I felt so confused that I wanted to find a hole and
get into it. And there is one time even worse. If someone suddenly wants you to
be her boyfriend or his girlfriend, what would you do? In my first year of
senior high school, I usually had argument with one classmate on study and
class management. One day, she suddenly came to me and said “Be my boyfriend!”.
I was shocked and thought she was kidding. I said “No.” First time, I saw her
seemed a little sad and she said “You will never get a girlfriend!” angrily,
walking away. I was still standing like a tree with nothing in mind and did not
know anything to say.
Now, when I look back those days, I cannot
stop laughing and feel sorry about my friends. I should apologize but they may
forget those silly sad days. And now I have learned to think for others and won’t
say what I think straightly. And I know that sometimes a lie is much more
beautiful than the truth.
How I changed? I am not sure. The only
reason may be I come to Singapore along without family and learn everything imperceptibly.
Boys are usually growing up slower than
girls. But when boys grown up, they can be more mature just like the fruits come
out after the accumulation of flowers.
Damn it ! In last minute, I almost finished this comment, however I pressed "QUIT" below the chart without saving it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to write it again!!!!
回复删除Exactly, to some extent girls are quite mature than boys especially when they deal with relationships. But please be confident, my friend. I think I am qualified to say that You are really growing up and becoming mature progressively.
回复删除Yi Zhou,
回复删除Thank you for sharing your funny stories with us. Please don't feel embarrassed. We all live and learn. You are a very kind and honest person, so I am sure your good friends would understand.
Overall, your work is structured clearly from past, present and future. You also described your ideas well--great job.
Language: Pay attention to the following
1. Inconsistencies in tenses: You referred to an event in the past, so you must ensure you consistently use past tense in your sentence.
-For example, once my deck mate asked me whether I think she is beautiful or not.
-And there is one time even worse.
2. Put the describing word to close to the word that it is describing: 'angrily'
First time, I saw her seemed a little sad and she said “You will never get a girlfriend!” angrily, walking away. I was still standing like a tree with nothing in mind and did not know anything to say.
3. Be careful with the use of tenses in this sentence. We will be talking about present (has) and past (had) perfect tenses in class, look over the use of these tenses after our class discussion and see if you could spot how they should be used.
-I should apologize but they 'may forget' those silly sad days. And now I have learned to think for others and won’t say what I think straightly. And I know that sometimes a lie is much more beautiful than the truth.
4. Pay attention to the tenses used in the question and the sentence.
How I changed? I am not sure. The only reason may be I come to Singapore along without family and learn everything imperceptibly.
5. Also, can you think of a better word other than 'straightly'
I should apologize but they 'may forget' (TENSE) those silly sad days. And now I have learned to think for others and won’t say what I think straightly. And I know that sometimes a lie is much more beautiful than the truth.
6. Look at the tenses used in these tenses. Think about the time that the events happened? What is the difference between using simple present and present continuous tenses?
